Big part of my work last week was working on ProCore logo. The company had a logo that it was using but it needed new, fresh style.
The old logo had a emboss effect and was blue/grey. ProCore felt that it was time to give it a fresh cote of paint.
In the process of refreshing the logo, I did many sketches and several rough digital concepts. Some of them followed the old concept closely and some were further away and toyed with the concept of “core”
After several discussions and revisions we arrived at our decision and this logo was chosen. It follows the original fairly closely in order to keep the company’s identity as constant as possible.
The curved lines are shaped to suggest elastic bands “catching” the speeding orange ball while at the same time conveying the concept of “core”.
The font in ProCore is hand-adjusted to speak of stability and self-confidence, while at the same time looking modern. Combination of orange and dark grey is designed to convey the company’s youthful and energetic character and speak of innovation. The orange ball “sticks out” of the image to give it the “pop” effect and once again stress the energy and enthusiasm of this young company.
Together, the shapes and color scheme are elegant and modern and will serve ProCore well for years to come.
